Archie Falls in Love...

..And it's not with Betty or Veronica! And it's not with Cheryl Blossom either!

When I saw this at National Bookstore, I knew I just had to buy it. This is definitely a must read for all you Archie fans out there. It's really a big story and the way Archie falls for Valerie, well, it's truly different. Archie doesn't just go gaga over another beautiful girl.

And it seems so real, Archie and Valerie's love story that even Betty and Veronica are shaken to the core. Will they lose their favorite redhead forever? It's a nice story although I do believe I will remain a Betty loyalist. If Archie ever does choose to settle down and have a real relationship, I want him to pick Betty.

What do you guys think of Archie and Valerie together?

Bargain Book

It's in mint condition. Hardbound and only P200!

The pages are still white and clean!
I finally have in my possession one of the chick lit books I've been meaning to read: Queen of the Babble! I've been waiting for a cheap paperback copy of this book but it seems I've been waiting forever! That's why I'm so thrilled that I stumbled upon this site one night when I was on Facebook. I wrote about finding cheap Archie comics before  and now I've another source for bargain books!

If you love books like me, you should try visiting the site. You just might find a book you like and get it cheap. Odds & Ends 2nd hand library is pretty new. My batchmate from highschool owns it and she's a book lover and collector like me but lately she's been having space problem what with all the books she owns! It's a nice idea, practical too.

I can't wait to read Queen of the Babble!

My Recent Fix

I've never much of an alcohol drinker. Hate the taste of beer (bitter). Not much of a wine drinker. And though I drink cocktails like Margarita and Cosmopolitan, I only drink them when I'm in a bar. I'm more of your coffee drinking kinda gal although that too I only drink occasionally... until recently that is!

This month alone, I've more or less consumed about 15 coffee drinks already! My body's system is getting used to it and I find myself spending more for coffee.
Ordered a Latte from Caffe Ti-amo. Not good!

Okay well, this is not coffee but milkshake. But I gotta give Chocolate Fire credit for such a sweet tasting drink!

Had Starbucks with Jack. Did not like their Chai Tea Latte!

I'm becoming Lorelai Gilmore here! Always gotta have coffee in her system.

I once shared to you guys already that I'm a fan of the Archie Comics. Huge fan! That is why I'm thrilled that now I have a cheap way to continue this love for Archie. I can buy from Booksale! The above cost only 55php. Cheap enough I think so! Although nothing's cheaper than hitting the thrift shops. Hmm... I think I'm gonna spend one weekend visiting thrift stores near our place when the weather is much nicer. I'll let you guys know how that goes!

My First Out of Town Trip

Have you seen the news about Baguio and how cold it's been getting there lately? Like way colder than usual? Well, I went there this past weekend for work. Just an overnight thing because we have this ongoing Umami Culinary School event.

I'm not a big fan of the cold weather! Gimme the heat anytime. I'm a happy gal when the sun is shining brightly in the sky. But since I didn't have a choice, well, I just had to drag my butt off to Baguio, hence making it my first out of town trip for the year!

This is me with my officemates at Grace's home. Their house in Fairview is our first stopover! I'm like kinda ready for the cold weather already with my sneakers and leggings! Yeah, I say kinda 'cos I'm still wearing tube underneath that black sleeveless sweater vest.

This one is taken at SM Rosales, Pangasinan, our 3rd stopover on the way to Baguio. We had lunch at Mang Inasal!

Oh la! We finally made it to Baguio! I have never had my photo taken with the lion before even though I've been to Baguio for a number of times already so I thought this is the perfect opportunity! I know! It's too bad it's a long shot. Person handling the camera didn't zoom in.

This is the transient house we stayed in. It's a nice place. Quite near SM Baguio.

This is me wearing my F&X coat with my officemate, Bianca in the living room. Love the coat. Very comfy. Perfect for the biting cold weather of Baguio.

And this is me with my officemates, our client (the girl in red) and Ms. Nancy Reyes Lumen (the woman at the back) in the hallway of University of Baguio. We were waiting for our clients' guests to arrive back from buying pasalubong so we took the opportunity to take more photos.

Trying on my red bonnet. Sadly, my fabulous green jacket from Topshop wasn't thick enough to keep me warm from the cold. I was truly cold the whole time!

We saw this kid while we were dining in at Jollibee Harrison. Look how cute she is all bundled up because of the cold!

On our way home, we made a stop over at a gas station in Tarlac I think. Almost everyone in the van bothered to get out when we saw Boy Abunda. It's a photo op opportunity with one of the most influential people in showbiz!

So there! That's my trip in Baguio. I did bring home souvenirs: the usual strawberry jam and galina de gato for my friends - well for a friend and my family plus some cute silver accessories and white blouse for me. Overall it was a nice trip even though it was really cold but my one regret? I didn't take the opportunity to dress to the nines with thick and fabulous coats because everyone else was simply wearing sweaters. Trust me though! Those kind of clothing would've been very acceptable because as one of my officemates who's been to Hongkong recently said the cold weather in Baguio right now is as cold! I ended up bringing home a souvenir I would've been happy to leave behind... I got the colds! Urk!

Greenbelt 5 Ayala's Green Roof

First off, I'd like to share with you a recent discovery I made. I've been to Greenbelt plenty of times in the past but only now did I see this!

Greenbelt 5 has a green roof!

Actually been writing about green roofs recently and I thought this is such a great thing to do for the environment! Plus it's really gonna save you a ton of money in the long run! And then when I went up the last floor of GB5, I saw this! So kudos to the Ayalas for doing their share in helping fight off global warming!

Perfectly Lonely

Confession: I've only come to love John Mayer's songs recently. I think his new album Battle Studies is full of great songs. Here's the latest song from John that both Ryan and I are loving now.

"Perfectly Lonely".

Had a little love but I spread it thin

Falling in her arms and out again

Made a bad name for my game round town

Tore out my heart and shut it down

PRE-CHORUS

Nothing to do, nowhere to be

A simple little a kind of free

Nothing to do, no one but me

That's is all I need

CHORUS

I'm perfectly lonely

I'm perfectly lonely

I'm perfectly lonely, yeah

Cause I don't belong to anyone

Nobody belongs to me

I see my friends around from time to time

When their ladies let em slip away

And when they ask me how I'm doing with mine

This is always what I say ...

PRE-CHORUS

Nothing to do, nowhere to be

A simple little kind of free

Nothing to do, no one to be

Is it really hard to see?

CHORUS

I'm perfectly lonely

I'm perfectly lonely

I'm perfectly lonely, yeah

Cause I don't belong to anyone

Nobody belongs to me

And this is not to say

There never comes a day

I'll take my chances and start again

And when I look behind

On all my younger times

I'll have to thank the wrongs

That led me to a love so strong

[INSTRUMENTAL]

CHORUS

I'm perfectly lonely

I'm perfectly lonely

I'm perfectly lonely, yeah

Cause I don't belong to anyone

And nobody belongs --

That's the way, that's the way

That's the way that I want it

That's the way, that's the way

That's the way that I want it

That's the way, that's the way

That's the way that I want it

That's the way, that's the way

That's the way that I want it
