A Wedding in Tagaytay

Last month, another friend of mine from College finally got married to her long term boyfriend in Tagaytay. I know! This blog post is one month late! But I figured February is actually a perfect time to blog about this wedding because it's the month of love! (Yes, I'm just making an excuse! Ha ha!)

This is KitKath with her now husband, Jayson during their joint bachelor/bachelorette celebration at Ace Water Spa

A wedding is the kind of special occasion that's supposed to bring a whole barkada together again. But we weren't complete because Belle, one of our friends, wasn't there. Understandably because her father had just passed away.

This is me with Marian, my ride to Tagaytay! The wedding was supposed to start at 2PM but when we got there thirty minutes earlier, the church was empty. So...we just roamed around the church area, taking pictures!
This was early January so I wore a cardigan over my tube dress to keep me from getting cold.
I removed it eventually! Wanted to show off my tube dress!

I love Marian's outfit here. Actually think she's never looked better than she does here. Married life is doing her good!
If you haven't figured it out yet, we're wearing royal blue because it was Kitkath and Jayson's wedding color motif. We're not bridesmaids, we just chose to dress up in the colors requested.

The wedding reception was Sonya's Garden and guilty as charge, Marian and I didn't finish the church wedding ceremony because we wanted to explore the place before the rest of the guests arrived. So yeah, both of us were missing in action by the time the photos with the bride and groom were being taken at the church.

And this is us inside the tent reception - naturally the first couple of guests to arrive.
Marian with her husband, Guwen.

Karla and me

And this is me with Jackie and my adorable godson, Jake.

Karla and I are getting blindfolded here because well this is the part where the single ladies in the house are called up for that wedding garter game. The idea was that we had to find the safety pins that were hidden in the body of some lucky bachelor. The lady who doesn't find one is it! I was so nervous during that game especially when I was one of the last two ladies who was still searching for a safety pin. Luckily, someone helped me out! Whoever lent me a helping hand that time, I say thank you!

Anyhow, these are my two favorite photos from all the ones I took. These two are my favorite because for me I see love in them, the kind I want to have someday as well.

The bride and groom having their first dance. The way they looked at each other during that dance, it's like no one else was in the room but the two of them. They only had eyes for each other!

And this...because someday, I also want a guy I can lean on to. Not just for literal support when I'm wearing high heels and the surface is uneven. But someone who will be there with me like I will be for him through thick and thin. In sickness and in health. For poorer or richer.

Anyhow, to my friend, Kitkath and to Jayson, I know you guys will have a happy and strong marriage because I felt the love you guys have for each other. Congratulations to the newlyweds!

My Dream Cebu Vacation

If there's one place in the Philippines that I've been to more than once outside Metro Manila, it's Cebu! I've probably been there about three to four times already but it was always work that brought me there.

It's a beautiful place to visit so I want to come back there but for vacation! And when I do, this is where I want to be at!
Movenpick Resort and Spa!!!
I've never been here before but when I saw photos of this resort in Cosmo.ph's Instagram page, I fell in love! And I just knew that when I go to Cebu for a vacation, this is where I would stay in the whole time! Just look at these photos:

Oh I can picture myself lying down in one of those lounge chairs, reading a book, sipping fresh Mango juice and just basically enjoying the view!

I can see myself having hot coffee here at their hotel lobby!

I love the color combination of apple green, teal blue and white! So chic and cool to look at!

I can see myself in one of those comfy beanie couches enjoying an outdoor movie with a special someone! That would seriously be a romantic date!

And I can picture myself partying the night away too at their Ibiza Beach Club!

And when I'm famished, I'd replenish my energy by eating at The Sails, Moeven Pick's all day dining restaurant!

And since sooner or later, I would have to sleep, I can see myself lying in a comfortably big bed like the one in the picture! I love that it has a balcony too so there's even a view from the room.

Yes, that's definitely going to be a refreshing vacation to take! Betcha wanna go there too now, don't you? (",)

My Cebu City Adventure

I've been to Cebu a couple of times already and all for work. This year, I found myself back there again and yes still because of work. But this time I was able to have some adventures on the side too!

Cebu was celebrating the annual Sinulog festival when we came. Sinulog is a festival held annually on the third Sunday of January and it is meant to commemorate the Filipinos' pagan origin and our acceptance of Roman Catholicism. It is also meant to honor the Sto. Nino. The grand street parade is the highlight of the nine day celebration and I was a part of it.

There definitely were tiring moments (waking up at 4 frikkin' AM after pulling an all nighter) and moments during the whole Sinulog parade wherein my feet just wanted to give up from walking for hours (we were supposed to have a van that's part of the parade where we could rest and grab food from but the entry number got stolen right before the start so that's how we ended up walking the entire time) but I choose to remember the good part which is that the Sinulog Festival is a beautiful festival!

In the Sinulog parade, I saw participants in colorful costumes both kids and adults, dancing to the beat of drums, native gongs and trumpets.

It was a long parade which lasted from 9AM to 7PM and the weather was unpredictable. There were times when the sun peeked out, times when it was just an overcast sky and times when it drizzled.

Luckily these beautiful models had big umbrellas with them to protect them from the weather!

This is one of the other floats I saw in the parade.

Quite a crowd came to watch the parade. At the center, we had all the space. But on the sideline, that crowd can actually make you claustrophobic! I know because at one point my colleague and I tried to get to the sidewalk.

Me and my officemate, Raymond - my Sinulog parade adventure buddy.

Jack, my friend and now my office colleague as well also took us to eat at a Cebu favorite restaurant during our stay in Cebu - Casa Verde. If you're in Cebu city, try this place! I know there's a branch in Manila already but nothing can beat the original!

What a huge burger!

That burger right there was one of the meals we ordered and no, we weren't able to finish it because it's just so big! But it's delicious you betcha!

Death by Chocolate for yummy dessert!

We ate at the original branch of Casa Verde which is located at Lim Tiang Teng st., Ramos, Cebu. We chose to dine outside by the garden area. It was a very nice place, I thought. I like the ambience. It kind of relaxed me somehow, a short break from the work stress.

Me with the rest of officemates back at Casa Verde the day after our events.

We had a store opening in Ayala Center, Cebu aside from the Sinulog Parade. I've been to that mall before but it has gotten bigger since then so yeah, we took pictures there too like a bunch of tourists!

Ayala Cebu now looks like Greenbelt in Makati city especially on this part of the mall.
And oh you know how when you're all exhausted and you just want to sleep but you can't just yet because you're still working can make you really cranky? Luckily, we just managed to make light of the situation! Photos of us goofing around our hotel room, pretending like we're sooo busy at work! Ha ha!

My roommate Nicole really loved that Sinulog mask!

More pictures of us at Marco Polo Plaza after our dealers' night event.

We were all exhausted by this time. It was already our third big event in Cebu but we had a reason to smile - it was the last day of work! Hurray!!!

Yep, overall a memorable Cebu work trip! Hopefully next time I come back, it's for vacation! I have some place really beautiful to stay at in mind which I'll show you on another blog post!

Food Adventure: The Burger Project

Confession: My favorite junk food is a hamburger.

I remember my Dad always buying me Jollibee burgers when I was a kid particularly, Champ. And when they introduced their Cheesy Bacon Mushroom, I patronized that too! I also went to the movies with a Wendy's burger as baon - I loved their Bacon Mushroom Melt. Fast forward years later, I still find myself drawn to eating burgers. I've tried the burger at Burger Bar and loved it. And most recently, I ate at The Burger Project.

I've heard that they have a branch near DLSU-Taft but I dined at their Jupiter street, Makati branch which I just saw one time when I had an event near the area and from there I made a mental note to check it out.

I invited my best friend, Ryan to try it out with me when we met up last Saturday. We went in the afternoon so we were the only customers there.

If you didn't know yet, at The Burger Project, you get to design your own burger from the bun, the beef down to the toppings.
This was my order.
This was Ryan's.

The serving was actually big but we didn't know that initially 'til we got our orders. It was unplanned pigout weekend. We even ordered fries to go with our burgers!

And I even ordered vanilla milkshake to wash down my burger meal!

I had a sinfully delicious Saturday. What is packing on the calories right? Oh well. It's nice to indulge from time to time. Though I know I have to up my fitness regimen real soon if I want to be a sexier me come the merry month of May. There's something really special I'm looking forward to in May.
