Maybe Not is my second Colleen Hoover book. Loved her novel, Ugly Love so I definitely wanted to read more books written by her.

The plot:
When Warren has the opportunity to live with a female roommate, he instantly agrees. It could be an exciting change.
Or maybe not.
Especially when that roommate is the cold and seemingly calculating Bridgette. Tensions run high and tempers flare as the two can hardly stand to be in the same room together. But Warren has a theory about Bridgette: anyone who can hate with that much passion should also have the capability to love with that much passion. And he wants to be the one to test this theory.
Will Bridgette find it in herself to warm her heart to Warren and finally learn to love?
Maybe.
Maybe not.
My 2 cents:
I like Warren more than Miles of Ugly Love. I’d say it’s because compared to Miles, Warren was an easy going kind of guy. Bridgette, on the other hand, is not my kind of heroine. She’s rude and cold. She didn’t have such a great past growing up but still her overall attitude didn’t really change even when she was with Warren.
I like how they met though. I thought it was kind of amusing. Overall, Warren and Bridgette’s story didn’t make me go “awww. I love it”. It’s just okay for me and I definitely think that’s because I wasn’t so fond of the heroine.
The sexual chemistry of these two characters however was really hot. Actually I think Colleen Hoover writes sex scenes really well – this is judging from Ugly Love and this, Maybe Not.
I read some reviews about this book on Goodreads after I finished reading this novella. I found out that these two characters – Warren and Bridgette are also in another book by Colleen Hoover called Maybe Someday. They aren’t the key characters in that story but according to some readers’ reviews, that’s where they first loved Warren. Also in that book, they were intrigued by Bridgette so I probably should’ve read that first. But I didn’t know. So… mystery of Bridgette is gone for me. When I read Maybe Someday, I just know I’m going to have the same dislike for Bridgette as I have with her in Maybe Not.
Still, this is a good read. I’m beginning to really like Colleen Hoover.
Anyway, speaking of Goodreads, I just realized I’m way behind my Goodreads 2016 challenge. It’s now April and look how many books I’ve read so far!
I do have a long list of books I’m intending to read. I just need to not let my TV series take all of my free time away because since last year, that’s just how it’s been – I’ve been preferring watching my favorite TV series – which is a lot! – over reading books. It’s not to say that I don’t enjoy reading anymore. I still do.
