Hey guys! So I thought I’d expand from just talking about my skincare empties to my beauty empties. After all, I like trying out different beauty brands. Most of these brands I use are affordable and won’t break the bank.
Marta’s Handmade Exfoliating Facial Cleanser
On my first skincare empties post, I talked about liking Human Nature’s facial scrub. I didn’t buy that again though because I was trying out this cooling mint exfoliating facial cleanser from Marta’s Handmade Soap. Found out about this small local brand from one of my favorite influencers, Yuki Higson when she talked about this on her IG stories. Bought this in October last year and I was only able to use up the entire thing earlier this month. I only use it twice a week. this exfoliating cleanser has pH level of 5.5 and contains essential oils like peppermint, spearmint, tea tree and lemon.
Actually like this better than any facial scrub I’ve used in the past including Human Nature. It’s so gentle on the skin! Also lathers up nicely. Plus I love the minty smell! I got this tub for Php295.
Will I Buy It Again?
Yes! In fact, I already bought another tub!
Human Nature Sunflower Beauty Oil
I like Human Nature products! While I did not like all the beauty products I’ve tried from them, I think this is a good brand. One of the products that I like from them is this sunflower beauty oil. In fact, this is one of their best sellers and is much talked about among beauty enthusiasts. It has moisturizing and nourishing vitamins A, D & E. It claims to have 25 miracles in one bottle:
1. Overall body moisturizer
2. Helps lighten and soften underarms
3. Helps lighten dark spots and pimple marks
4. Helps make eyebrows thicker
5. Helps relieve itch and redness caused by insect bites.
6. Helps hydrate dry patches on face.
7. Helps relax tired, puffy eyes.
8. Helps lighten lesions and scars.
9. Adds shine to dull hair.
10. Helps improve appearance of underarm chicken skin.
11. Helps improve skin condition after sunburn.
12. Helps prevent and diminish the appearance of stretch marks.
13. Helps lighten dark undereye circles.
14. Smoothens dry, rough skin from shaving.
15. Helps soothe skin after waxing.
16. Helps calm skin and ease rashes.
17. Serves as an undereye moisturizer.
18. Removes stubborn makeup.
19. Makes skin glow and helps keep it youthful.
20. Helps ease dry and itchy scalp.
21. Nourishes and conditions eyelashes.
I’ve initially just used this to help soothe my skin after waxing and to improve appearance of underarm chicken skin. Also used this to help lighten dark spots like my knees and elbows (not that it’s super dark but still!) but recently I’ve been using it as an overall body moisturizer as well after bath. I feel that my skin’s been feeling more moisturized, softer to touch since then!
Will I Buy it Again?
Yes I will! So many benefits in one bottle for less than Php200. If you want to try it for yourself, you can buy it here.
Kerastase Paris Chronologiste Revitalizing Exfoliating Care Scalp and Hair
This is one of my most expensive beauty purchases. Understandably because it is Kerastase Paris! I bought this last year at SM Mall of Asia Department Store. I needed a product that would help with my hair dilemma: fine and seemingly thinning hair. Went researching online for product recommendations and this brand is also much raved about.
This product is one that’s also supposed to help with giving hair density. It looks like glitter jelly with ultra fine grains and it’s a gentle exfoliating treatment to purify and deep cleanse the scalp and hair prior to shampooing. To apply this, hair has to be slightly wet and used before shampooing. Massage the scalp for 5 minutes, add a little more water then distribute the product from scalp to ends of hair. I used this every other day, Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Will I Buy It Again?
No. It lasted me awhile but I didn’t necessarily see any effect. It might work but maybe over time with constant use. However, Php2000+ is a hefty price to pay. The old me, pre-pandemic me, wouldn’t have hesitated to buy this again. I mean, it’s Kerastase! But I’m trying to be more mindful of my spending these days which includes not swiping my credit card for unnecessary big purchases! I might look around for some other more affordable pre-shampoo treatment product.
BeachBorn Age Defense Luxury Glow Oil
BeachBorn is another local beauty brand that I really like. In fact, I once raved about their Witch Hazel line that’s been absolutely helpful with my acne breakouts. So when I spotted this new beauty product on their online store, I didn’t hesitate to buy it.
This luxury glow oil is the first beauty oil I’ve tried on my face. As I mentioned, I’ve only used Human Nature Sunflower Oil on my body. The product promises a natural permanent glow with continued use. Glass skin anyone? This oil which has a thick consistency is made with a rich blend of powerful anti-oxidants and natural retinols to promote cell renewal, brighten and slow down skin aging.
It has a thick consistency and should be applied as the last step to your beauty skincare routine.
Will I Buy It Again?
Yes I will! I need a skincare product to help slow down skin aging and at Php550, I think this is pretty affordable. BeachBorn is a really good beauty brand so go on and buy one for yourself here.
Wildleaf Eye Oil
Also part of my anti-aging skincare routine is using eye serum. I’ve been using one since I was 25. I read that’s actually when you’re supposed to start your anti-aging skincare routine. In terms of eye serums, I’ve always been used to cream type and that usually last me about 3 months of use. I thought I’d switch it up by trying eye oil since it’s something new for me.
Wildleaf‘s Infinity Eye Oil promises to combat signs of stress, fatigue as well as dryness. It also promises to lessen dark circles with its rich, skin-strengthening oil blend. So many eye benefits in one small bottle, I was sold! I used this twice daily, morning and night. I put a small drop on my ring finger and pat it around the delicate eye area. Definitely think it works!
Will I Buy It Again?
I was honestly hesitant at first to purchase it even though it had a lot of promises. It’s only 10ml and cost Php650. But it lasted longer than eye creams. I bought this in July of last year and I was only able to fully consume the bottle earlier this year. I got my money’s worth so yes there’s a repeat purchase. In fact, I already did buy one again.
Human Nature’s Soothing Balm
Last product I want to share with you all is another one from Human Nature. I am a fan of this eucalyptus & bergamot soothing balm. It’s best for relieving stress (just smell that minty fragrance!), dizziness and minor body aches. It also helps to soothe itchy skin.
I used this product most specially to soothe my aching shoulder muscles which gets that way from lying on my belly when reading or doing upper body workout. It’s also made from natural ingredients which again I love!
Will I Buy It Again?
Yes yes yes! Aside from the sunflower beauty oil, this has been one of my must buy products from Human Nature. Buy this product here. You won’t regret it!
