“Furious” follows an FBI agent, Alice Black played by Emmy Rossum on the hunt for a mysterious and calculating female serial killer. Both pursue justice on their own paths, and as their lives intertwine, the line between right and wrong begins to blur. It is created and executively produced by Elizabeth Meriwether, also the creator of shows like New Girl (2011), The Dropout (2022) and Dying for Sex (2025).
The series stars Emmy Rossum, Lola Petticrew, Scoot McNairy, Quincy Tyler Bernstine, and Jake Lacy.
Two Reasons Why This Series Is Worth Watching
The Show Makes You Question Your Own Morality
Alice and Catherine both have dark pasts—both are victims of violence and abuse. But how the two women act, given their history, differs greatly. Catherine uses her trauma to seek revenge, setting out to punish the people who have caused her harm. Alice turns that damage inward. She’s drawn to men who are willing to hurt her before becoming intimate with them.
Furious on Disney+ makes viewers question their own beliefs on morality—what is right and what is wrong? Who deserves the sympathy? And who deserves condemnation? Are there times when revenge and violence are ever the answers?
The Standout Performances of the Two Leads
I’ve not been able to follow Emmy Rossum’s acting career. The only movie I ever remember seeing her in was The Day After Tomorrow, alongside Jake Gyllenhaal. And her character there was way different from her Furious character, Alice. In short, she looked like a nice, unassuming college girl in that movie. I was taken aback when I started watching Furious and realized it was the same actress.
Alice is smart and determined, like any hero should be. But she’s also a complicated woman, deeply affected by the abuse she has survived. Her self-destructive response to the trauma she experienced was one of the show’s most uncomfortable storylines. It only goes to show how deeply trauma can affect a person.
I would also give kudos to Petticrew. She played the traumatized, revenge-seeking serial killer, Catherine, well. Petticrew made Catherine someone who’s charming, frighteningly focused, and vulnerable, transitioning from one emotion to the next so smoothly. She. played it so convincingly that one might even begin to want her to get justice from the people who hurt her in the first place.

The Supporting Cast Are Worth Noting Too
Scott McNairy as Danny is also worth mentioning. His unwavering loyalty and support for Alice throughout was so endearing. Their relationship is built on history, trust, and friendship. The affection he felt for her, though, could be said to be more than just friendship.
SCOOT MCNAIRY, EMMY ROSSUM
Quincy Tyler Bernstine as a veteran FBI agent, Nora Washington, is also a standout. As director of sex crimes and crimes against children in the FBI unit, she was Alice’s boss. She was experienced, tough, and sharp. But like Alice, she’s also flawed. Nora suffers from insomnia and drinks alcohol to deal with trauma that comes with the job.

The Powerful Dialogue from Furious
In the season finale of Furious, Alice and Catherine find themselves together again at Jay Easton’s house—one of Catherine’s abusers. Alice tries to convince Catherine to surrender, warning her that more police and the FBI are en route and that she didn’t want her to get hurt.
Alice: I don’t want you to kill anyone.
Catherine: Why? Because it’s wrong?
Alice: Because we don’t get to decide what someone’s punishment should be.
Catherine: Then what are we allowed to decide? Because I didn’t get to decide a f*cking thing about my life!
Furious on Disney+ Renewed for Season 2
In the season finale of Furious, Jay Easton dies of a respiratory failure—or at least that’s what Alice told everyone. While the show never explicitly showed it, we, the viewers, were shown a version of how things may have actually ended—with Alice taking justice into her own hands. What may have actually happened—whether Alice did kill Jay or not—is the biggest cliffhanger of Furious’s season 1 finale.
Luckily, we’ll get to find out Alice’s fate as Furious on Disney+ has been renewed for Season 2. There’s no exact date yet when Season 2 will be, but I’ll definitely be watching. Meanwhile, another favorite Disney+ series of mine will be coming back this December—Only Murders in the Building season 6, so that’s something to look forward to soon!
