One of my favorite shows on Disney+ is coming back—and this time, Only Murders in the Building is leaving New York City for London.
Disney+ has released first-look images for the sixth season of the Emmy®-winning comedy series, which premieres December 8 on Disney+ Philippines. And while I’m always excited to see Charles, Oliver and Mabel get themselves into another murder mystery, I have to admit that I’m particularly curious about this season.
After five seasons of murders happening in or around their beloved Arconia apartment building, I was beginning to wonder: How many more people can possibly die in this building? At some point, even the most murder-prone apartment complex in New York has to run out of victims.
So, the move to London is actually a welcome change—and one I’m looking forward to seeing unfold.
In Season 6, Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez) find themselves with their most challenging case yet when Cinda Canning becomes the latest victim. Her death sends the trio across the Atlantic to London, where they must find her killer while navigating a whole new world of suspicious and eccentric characters.
London is, after all, the home of the cozy murder mystery, so it feels like an appropriate—and potentially very fun—new setting for the trio. It will be interesting to see how the show’s familiar mix of mystery, comedy and friendship works in a completely different location.
Of course, the move doesn’t mean the trio is leaving their true-crime podcasting behind. Charles, Oliver and Mabel are still determined to solve the murder, even as they find themselves following in the footsteps of Cinda Canning, whose podcast inspired their own.
Season six brings back Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez, with special guest appearances from Tina Fey, Olivia Colman, Meryl Streep, David Tennant, Nicola Coughlan, Martin Freeman and more.

As someone who has followed this series from the beginning, I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what happens when our favorite amateur sleuths leave New York behind. After five seasons of murders in the building, maybe a change of address is exactly what the show needs.
