I have fine hair and it never bothered me before. But through the years, almost half the time when I go to a hair salon, I would get a comment about how fine my hair is. I finally decided to do something about it. I decided to look for products that promise hair growth and hair density.

In comes The Ordinary. So I’ve heard of this beauty brand. People rave about how amazing their skincare line is. But I didn’t know they carried products that caters to hair concerns too until a few months ago when I accompanied a friend to Make Up Pro located just a floor below our office.

serum for hair density

Caught my attention of course and after doing some research online, I found out this is a new product but already it’s gotten rave reviews on its website. I needed to try it and see for myself if it really will boost my hair density and give me hair growth. I went to BeautyMNL to purchase it. It was more expensive to buy it at that make up shop. At BeautyMNL, you can get it at Php1,450 while at that store, it went as high as Php2,500. What a whopping difference!

Here’s the product info on the website:

This concentrated formula is designed to support hair health so that it looks thicker, denser, fuller and healthier. The technologies present in this formula include REDENSYL™ complex (with Larix Europaea Wood Extract and Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract), Procapil™ peptide complex (with Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1), CAPIXYL™ peptide complex (with Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3 and Trifolium Pratense Flower Extract), BAICAPIL™ complex (with Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Triticum Vulgare Germ Extract and Glycine Soja Germ Extract), AnaGain™ (Pisum Sativum Extract) and High-Solubility Caffeine (1% net Caffeine by weight), in an ultra-lightweight, emollient base for efficient penetration. The total concentration of these technologies in the formula by weight is 21.15%.

Basically the product claims to give you thicker, denser, fuller and healthier hair which I need! Redensyl seems to be the key ingredient that’s supposed to help the user achieve this.

The directions said to apply a few drops or apply as needed at bed time, applying it to clean, dry scalp. Massage it thoroughly and leave it on. I used the product for about two months religiously following the directions.

What I Liked About This:

  • I liked that it was cheaper than the Kerastase Densifique vials that also claims would help me thicken my hair. Those vials are about Php8k per box!
  • I liked that the bottle is small. Can take this anywhere even when I travel!

But let’s talk about the results as I am sure you’re also curious to know whether the rave reviews are legit!

The result:

I experienced less hair fall which especially happens when I’m taking a bath! I know I said this about Sugarbear Hair vitamins as well so how do I know that this product was actually effective in lessening hair fall? The thing about Sugarbear Hair is that I wasn’t taking it religiously. I wanted to. But I couldn’t buy the blue vitamins easily since it was out of stock. There was a gap in my intake and so I know that The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Hair Serum worked!

But did it give me hair density? Nope! Sure it’s not supposed to be like magic but at least I should have some baby hair growth right? A scalp test proved otherwise though. I was definitely disappointed!

So yeah I definitely didn’t do a repeat purchase. Less hair fall is great but I want a head full of thick, denser and healthy hair. My search for a hair care product that would reduce my hair fall and achieve thicker, denser, fuller and basically healthier hair is still ongoing.
