After months of watching reruns, I’ve finally come around to watching newer content. I watched a new movie on Prime, which I even wrote a review about. Now I want to share my top 5 recommendations of what to watch, you know, in case you need ideas on what to stream on Netflix.

3 Body Problem

This came highly recommended to me by my best friend.

This is an eight-episode series. It’s a quick binge. 3 Body Problem is a sci-fi series and the plot goes – scientists are getting killed and it’s aliens who are the culprits! They’re coming to invade Earth.

While it’s about scientists, it’s not super cerebral that you won’t understand what’s going on if you’re not super into science.

I was hooked right from the start. I found it intriguing, exciting, and even informational as there are a few historical tidbits on it. What would you do if you found out aliens do exist and they’re coming to Earth to probably make the human race extinct?

3 Body Problem has been renewed for a second season and I can’t wait to watch more of this!

Baby Reindeer

Another series I would recommend for those thinking of what to stream on Netflix right now is Baby Reindeer.

Baby Reindeer is about Donny, a wanna-be comedian, who meets a lonely woman claiming to be a lawyer. Taking pity on her, he offers her a cup of tea on the house and then she gets obsessed with him. This is also a short series with only 7 episodes. Baby Reindeer is more than just a guy being stalked by a crazy woman, which I realized as I watched more of the episodes. It’s a psychological drama and it will truly mess you up emotionally when you watch this series.

Did you know this Netflix hit series is based on a true story? The actor and creator of Baby Reindeer, Richard Gadd, played a fictional version of himself in this series. Yup, it’s his real-life story that was told in Baby Reindeer.

This is also another recommendation that came from my best friend. I finished it but he didn’t. After telling him how dark and twisted this series is, he lost interest. LOL!

Dead Boy Detectives

Here’s another great series for those looking for ideas on what to stream on Netflix – Dead Boy Detectives. If you’re into supernatural, this one’s not to miss!

Dead Boy Detectives is about two ghosts – Edwin and Charles – they’re ghost detectives who decide to stay on Earth instead of crossing over to the afterlife so they can help fellow ghosts resolve their unfinished business on Earth. It’s a spin-off to Netflix’s adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s Sandman.

I highly enjoyed watching this young adult series. It’s got action, adventure, supernatural mystery, comedy, and even romance. It’s gotten good reviews online so I hope Netflix renews this series.

Bridgerton

While I read historical romance novels in my growing-up years, I’ve never been a fan of watching one. Until Bridgerton came along that is. This historical romance drama series is now in season 3, about a wallflower in search of a husband and happiness in high society London.

This recommendation is for those looking to watch a show that’s about romance and will bring all the kilig feels. Currently, there are only four episodes to Season 3, with the rest dropping by June 13 but there’s already a lot to unpack!

Hack Your Health

The last on my recommended list of what to stream on Netflix is this documentary series, Hack Your Health.

It’s a very insightful documentary about how our gut affects our whole body. I know that the kind of diet we keep is important to our health. But this documentary opened my eyes even more! I’ll let this Everygirl article share key takeaways from the documentary.

So those are my top 5 recommended series and documentary to stream on Netflix right now. If you’ve seen any of them, drop your thoughts on the comment section of this post. I’d love to know what you also thought of any of these shows.
